Once You’re Here
Discover Downtown Boutique & Specialty Shops:
There’s a wide range of boutique and specialty shops within easy walking distance of Memorial Peace Park such as the award winning Bodacious Baskets, Good Company, Tiny Fingers Tiny Toes, Monkey Business, Just Ducky, and Little Cricket Gallery.
If you’re looking for a bite to eat, there’s plenty to choose from. Terrific bistros, bakeries and coffee shops are just the beginning. From local favourites Marina’s Gelato, Greenhouse Café, Roast Bistro, LAVA Dining and Lounge, and Bella Vita to well known franchise names like Blenz Coffee, Starbucks, Red Robin, Tim Horton’s, Dairy Queen and KFC there’s something here for everyone. Check out the newest addition to Memorial Peace Park, ’Decadence’, a new bakery cafe located on the ground floor of the civic tower.
While you’re downtown you’ll want to take time to visit New Creations Art Gallery & Studios that showcases many of our local artists.
Child and Pet Considerations:
In Maple Ridge, children are not only welcome – they’re ENCOURAGED to participate! We have lots of activities to keep them busy. In fact, all our events are kid-friendly, kid-fun (except, of course, the beer garden!). To learn more, print our Detailed Calendar.
Pets are also welcome at most events, with the EXCEPTION of the Jazz & Blues and the Country Music festivals. For the health and safety of pets AND people, dogs must be leashed and dog-owners are asked to cleanup after their animals.
Other Facilities:
Top of the list of any weekend outing is knowing the whereabouts of the washrooms! You’ll find facilities at MR Leisure Centre, The Act Theatre and Haney Place Mall.
Cash machines are also plentiful in downtown Maple Ridge. In fact there are several ATMs within one block of Memorial Peace Park. You’ll find the Scotiabank and BMO on Lougheed Highway, and the CIBC, RBC and HSBC on 224 Street.
If a run to the drug store is in order there are some nearby options – Shopper’s Drug Mart on Dewdney between Edge and 224, Zellers at Haney Place Mall, and London Drugs on Lougheed at 228.
